E. coli Poly(A) Polymerase는 E. coli 의 pcnB 유전자에서 만들어지는 poly(A) polymerase I 재조합단백질입니다. 이 효소는 template-independent nucleotidyl transferase 활성으로 RNA에 AMP를 연결하며 다른 nucleotide 는 잘 연결하지 못합니다. ATP를 사용하여 RNA의 3' 말단에 AMP를 연속적으로 추가하여, 3' poly(A) tail을 형성합니다. RNA 아데닐화 및 폴리아데닐화는 RNA 안정성 및 기능에 상당한 영향을 미칩니다.
